McDonald’s to open 1st restaurant in Vietnam after Tet

The restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City measures 1,300 square meters which can serve 350 customers and has parking space for 16 cars and over 250 motorbikes.

The construction is expected to be complete by early 2014, and begin commercial operation after the Tet (lunar New Year) holiday.

McDonald’s first restaurant in Vietnam will open 24 hours. It will introduce Drive-Thru service as a new way for busy customers in Ho Chi Minh City to grab the meal without having to step into the restaurant.

It is located at 2-6bis Dien Bien Phu Street, District 1.

Nguyen Huy Thinh, general manager of McDonald’s asserted that the restaurant will provide customers its traditional meal with an affordable price. This is the first time after 15 years that US-origin McDonald’s opens its branch in another country.
