UAE cafe chain to target Asia

1A successful Dubai-based cafe restaurant chain has its eyes set on ASEAN.
Shakespeare and Co has signed an exclusive franchise consultancy agreement with Vietnam Franchises (VF) with the aim of opening restaurants throughout ASEAN.
GM of the chain, Gaetan Herve, says ASEAN’s booming younger population, rising disposable incomes and “international orientation”, make the region a significant potential market for the business.

Shakespeare and Co was founded in the UAE in 2001 and has since embarked upon an aggressive international expansion campaign that has seen it grow successfully throughout the Middle East and the US. It offers wetsern fare from breakfasts through to salads, desserts, cakes and beverages.
While every restaurant is distinctly “Shakespearean” in theme, each one is unique in terms of colours, décor and layout that differentiate the brand from “cookie cutter” chain concepts.

The company also has patisserie and catering divisions that complement the café restaurant business.
Sean T. Ngo, MD of Vietnam Franchises (VF), agrees.
“The café restaurant concept is a proven and winning combination that satisfies customers’ desires for great food, delicious beverages and a truly unique experience and ambience. The brand’s success in the highly competitive Middle East and the US truly makes it a premier brand that is ready to exploit the franchise opportunities within ASEAN.”
