The family steakhouse had an outdoor party at 8 p.m, July 9, featuring country Singer Bryan Scott and guest Adam Crank. Established in Clarksville, Indiana in 1993 the Louisville based chain has more than 450 locations, including international ones as far away as Dubai and Taipei.
“Adam Crank is a local musician who done some performing for us in the past,” said David Willey, managing partner at the Ashland location. “He does a lot of country music covers. Dylan Scott is from Nashville and has several songs in nationwide play. We’re very excited to have both of them. We’re very excited for the night. We’re celebrating 20 years in Ashland. We were the 5th store in the history of the company and we now serve more guests out of this store than any other store in the world. Ashland has always been very good to us so we want to give back to the community and have a good time.”
Keeping customers happy is always a priority.
“Since we first opened in 1995 we’ve expanded twice to keep up with the demand. We’re the biggest and number one store here in little old Ashland,” said Brooke Christian, assistant service manager. “I’ve been with the store since October 2004. We’ve taken off a couple of menu items (Southwest Chicken and trout) and we’ve added grilled shrimp, pulled pork, and country fried chicken. Other than that pretty much everything has stayed the same. Our top item is a 6-ounce sirloin steak. It’s on our early dine menu meaning it’s only $8.99 from 10:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. During dinner hours it’s $9.99.”
The steakhouse’s menu includes a wide variety of cuts including sirloin, New York strip, prime rib, a massive 23-ounce Porterhouse T-Bone. Other dishes include country fried chicken, “fall off the bone” ribs, pork chops and grilled salmon.
The restaurant also features a full service bar with a wide selection of beers and cocktails such as the Hurricane Margarita, Armadillo Punch and Original Frozen Margarita.
“We have 16 different beers on tap which we keep at an ice cold 36 degrees,” Christian said. “All of our cocktails are made from scratch everyday. We have Angry Orchard Cider on tap, which is my favorite. Leinenkugel Summer Sandy and Fat Tire are big sellers for us.”
Willey said Texas Roadhouse operates on a made from scratch concept.
“We cut all of our own meat in the building, we make our all of our own side dishes and make all of our salad dressing,” he said. “We currently employ 220 people here locally.”
