Fast Retailing to expand Uniqlo brand in Thailand

Japanese company Fast Retailing plans to expand its casual wear chain Uniqlo in Thailand,
As part of the plan, the chain will open 10 to 15 new stores in 2013.
Another 15 to 20 outlets in 2014 and 20 to 25 outlets in 2015 are expected to open by the retailer, reported Insideretail.Asia.
Fast Retailing EVP Naoki Otoma told the news agency: “Spending per head here is equal to or sometimes higher than in Japan.”
The retailer has recently opened its 10th store at Promenada Resort Mall in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
In 2012, Fast Retailing opened 200 Uniqlo stores globally, majority of them in Asia.
Fast Retailing is also looking to open another 200-250 stores globally in 2013.
The product portfolio of the retailer includes a variety of fleece jackets, polo shirts, foot wear, down jackets, corsetry, lounge wear, swimwear, bra tops, maxi dresses, pants, sweaters, jeans, T-shirts, cardigans, lingerie and other accessories.
The Japanese retailer operates a network of over 2,222 stores across Japan, China, Hong Kong, South Korea, the UK, the US, France and Singapore.
Fast Retailing also operates other store banners, including Theory, Comptoir Des Cotonniers, Princesse Tam.Tam, and g.u, besides Uniqlo.
