Franchise show opens in HCM City

HCM CITY — Around 150 companies, mostly from South Korea, are participating in the International Shop and Franchise exhibition that opened yesterday in HCM City.

The three-day event, with support from the Korea Franchise Association and Korea Agro-Fisheries Trade Corp, offers opportunities for businesses to find partners in franchising with big names, including Tour Les Jours and Kinh Do in the bakery industry, Kumho Tires, bedding product manufacturer Evron, and NIIT (National Institute of Information Technology), among others.
According to Wowbong Lee, project director of the COEX Group, which cooperated with Vinexad to organise the event, the international shop and franchise model is becoming one of the most successful business models in Viet Nam, growing 20 per cent annually.
During the three-day exhibition, a seminar will be held covering topics such as successful stories of franchise businesses in Viet Nam, the country’s laws on investment, and a retail market overview.
The exhibition will run until Saturday at the SaiGon Exhibition and Convention Center, 799 Nguyen Van Linh Avenue, in the Phu My Hung New Urban Area. —VNS
