The annual Vietnam International Retail and Franchise Exhibition (VIETRF) will be held in Ho Chi Minh City from November 5 to 7 with 320 booths of 250 companies from Vietnam and 13 other countries, organizers said on Monday.
“Vietnam’s retail market is growing rapidly and global retailers are rushing to Vietnam from over the world since 2009 when Vietnam’s market was open to foreign enterprises,” Ji Hang Shin, representative of South Korean trade show organizer Coex, one of the organizers of the exhibition, said at a press briefing on Monday.
“For this reason, we have organized the Vietnam international retail and franchise show since 2009,” he said, adding that the event is aimed at supporting local and international companies to strengthen their cooperation.
The exhibition, which will take place at Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center in District 7, is expected to attract 40,000 visitors, up from last year’s 35,600 visitors.
A large number of exhibitors will come from South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, the US, Latvia, Poland and Spain.
Many top brands including Jollibee, Ministop, Effoc Cafe, World Franchise Associates, Uncle Bill, Snowee and Tous Les Jours will also join the event.
A representative of Jollibee Vietnam told the press briefing that her company is looking for local franchise partners.
The organizers said they will arrange one by one business meetings between foreign and Vietnamese exhibitors and firms or individuals intended for cooperation.
Seminars will also be held during the event, providing visitors updated information in the retail and franchise industry in Vietnam.
As a concurrent event with VIETRF, the Korea Sourcing Fair 2015 will be organized at the same place.
Vietnam’s retail sales and services grew 6.3 percent last year to roughly US$140 billion, official data showed.
