In an exclusive countrywide deal made with Cinema Entertainment Food, LLC, Cajun Operating Company, which does business in the U.S. as Church’s Chicken, announced that its popular Texas Chicken® international brand will be expanding to Bulgaria. The first location – a traditional free-standing store in the capital city of Sofia – is set for a July 2015 grand opening. Cinema Entertainment Food is a leading QSR operator in Bulgaria. Up to seven restaurants will be opened in the country within the next 5 years.

“We’re proud to be making our best-in-class chicken available on an even larger global scale,” said Tony Moralejo, Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer for Church’s. “We’re looking forward to continuing to bring more stores online throughout Bulgaria in the months to come.” The company’s deal with Cinema Entertainment Food includes both in-line and traditional free-standing restaurants.

The new Texas Chicken locations in Bulgaria will feature a few new locally-influenced menu items, plus the same delicious menu items as Church’s in the U.S., such as the restaurant’s famous hand-battered fried chicken, chicken sandwiches, honey butter biscuits, creamy tangy coleslaw, juicy corn on the cob and more. “Delicious, freshly prepared, convenient food truly knows no boundaries,” Moralejo added. “We are excited to add Bulgaria to a very wide world of people who enjoy our meals.”

“It’s a great strategic fit for the Texas Chicken brand and a great addition to our expansion plan for Eastern Europe,” said Bill Schreiber, VP of Global Development.

Cinema Entertainment Food, LLC is the largest Cinema Plex operator in Bulgaria. They introduced THX Dolby sound to Bulgaria and they also sell and distribute DVD’s among their cinemas. Additionally, they operate several local restaurant brands and own and operate an international brand. Their commitment to quality operations and customer service has made them a premier operator in Bulgaria.
