U.S. Sandwich chain Eggslut to land Hong Kong

Eggslut, the US-based egg sandwich chain, has opened its first location in Hong Kong, marking its fourth Asian market after Singapore, South Korea, and Japan. The new store, located at Fashion Walk in Causeway Bay, is currently undergoing renovation and is expected to start its trial operation in late May before opening to the public in June.

Eggslut has not disclosed the exact launch date. The brand shared a post about the new store on social media, which received positive feedback from netizens who were curious about the chain’s next market expansion.

In April 2020, Eggslut’s franchise operations contract in Korea and license for Singapore were acquired by Korean food company SPC Group, which also operates Shake Shack in South Korea. The two companies partnered to open Eggslut’s first store in Seoul, South Korea. Less than a year later, in September 2021, Eggslut opened its first store in Singapore, where it currently operates two locations.

Eggslut was founded by Alvin Cailan in 2011 and is a US-based chain known for its egg sandwich made with a brioche bun, coddled egg, and sriracha mayo sauce. The brand’s headquarters are in California, and it currently operates five stores in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Venice, Glendale, and West Hollywood. Additionally, Eggslut has international locations in Singapore, South Korea, Japan, and the United Kingdom.
