Muji Singapore to open cafes

Cafe Muji

Muji Singapore is to open what could be the first of several cafes in the city.

The Japanese department store brand operates its Cafe&Meal dining concept in

Japan, where it has 23, Chengdu, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

The first Muji Singapore Cafe&Meal will open at the Paragon shopping centre on Orchard Rd on September 5.

It will be adjacent to its store in the centre which will be renovated to coincide with the 122 sqm eatery’s debut.

The Cafe&Meal concept is described as “minimalist chic” (much like a lot of Muji’ anti-brand product range) featuring simple natural wood furniture in a plain, modern backdrop fitout.

The menu will feature Japanese deli-style foods using locally-sourced ingredients, with a broad range of desserts.

Muji also has retail stores in Vivo City, Ion Orchard and Bugis Junction, but there is no word as yet on which of these stores will gain a Cafe&Meal.
