Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes, a New York-based restaurant, has opened its first outlet in Malaysia at Sunway City in Kuala Lumpur. Opening on 17th March 2023, Black Tap introduces its iconic Burgers and spectacular CrazyShake® milkshakes to Malaysia for the first time with an edgy, urban outlet.
“We couldn’t be more excited to bring downtown New York to Sunway Resort Hotel at Sunway City Kuala Lumpur. Malaysia was a natural next destination for us within the region and the rich food culture is inspiring,” said Chris Barish, owner of Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes.
The urban concept eatery offers a relaxed atmosphere with a New York flavor, complete with hip-hop and pop music of the 80s and 90s, and art-covered walls. The Malaysian street artist Kenji Chai has created murals for the restaurant’s facade and interior. With a seating capacity of 165, the restaurant features a variety of plant-based dishes to cater to the growing vegan trend.
Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer previously debuted in Asia at Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands in 2018.
