Club Pilates, the world’s largest Pilates franchise with more than 1,400 studios, is transforming International Pilates Day into a month-long brand activation called PilatesFest throughout May 2026. The initiative spans studios across California, Texas, New York, New Jersey, and dozens of other markets, featuring free introductory classes, community partnerships with local vendors, and — for the first time — 5- and 10-class packs that break from the brand’s traditional membership-only model.
Rather than confining the celebration to International Pilates Day on the first Saturday of May, Club Pilates President Tianna Strateman explained that PilatesFest is designed to activate studios throughout the entire month, using National Pilates Month as a platform to build awareness, drive engagement, and attract new members. Studios have autonomy to customize their local activations — from outdoor mat Pilates classes to brewery partnerships and pickleball tie-ins.
“We truly believe Pilates finds a path to a more fulfilling life. This is meant to be a celebration.” — Tianna Strateman, President, Club Pilates
One of the most strategically significant elements of PilatesFest is the introduction of 5- and 10-class packs at participating studios. Club Pilates has historically operated a 100% membership-based model, so this shift represents a calculated experiment in lowering the commitment barrier for prospective members who are interested but not yet ready to subscribe. If the pilot succeeds at converting class-pack buyers into full members, it could reshape how Xponential Fitness brands approach customer acquisition globally.
Alongside the domestic activation, Club Pilates disclosed that it is focused on its global footprint with plans to expand across 23 countries. This follows the brand’s recent master franchise agreement for the Philippines with DM Active Wellness Inc. to open 30 studios over the next decade, and the Riser Fitness deal that will bring 127 new studios across six U.S. states plus Mexico.
Club Pilates operates under Xponential Fitness (NYSE: XPOF), which is scheduled to release Q1 2026 earnings on May 7. The parent company has faced a turbulent year — including an FTC settlement of $17 million over franchise rule violations, a board-level review of strategic alternatives including a potential sale, and flat sales across several brands. Against that backdrop, PilatesFest serves as both a member-acquisition lever and a brand-health signal to investors.
For prospective master franchisees evaluating the boutique fitness segment in Asia and the Middle East, PilatesFest illustrates how franchise brands are evolving their consumer acquisition playbooks beyond traditional advertising. The shift from rigid membership models to flexible class packs mirrors trends in markets like Japan, South Korea, and the UAE, where consumers expect lower-friction entry into premium fitness experiences. The sequencing of international expansion — starting with proof-of-concept activations before committing to multi-unit buildouts — is a pattern that sophisticated master franchise investors increasingly demand before signing territory agreements.
