Crunch Fitness is bringing its latest-generation Crunch 3.0 gym format to Forney, Texas, with a $12 million, 35,000-square-foot club officially opening to members on April 23, 2026. The new location extends the brand’s aggressive Texas growth under franchisee CR Fitness Holdings and reinforces Crunch’s run as one of the fastest-expanding fitness franchises in North America.
Crunch Forney sits at 172 Trailhouse Lane and is operated by Southwest Fitness Holdings LLC, a subsidiary of CR Fitness Holdings. The club is built around Crunch’s newest 3.0 design, which blends modern aesthetics with a broader menu of training, recovery and group fitness amenities. Members gain access to an expanded strength and functional training area, Olympic lifting platforms, a dedicated HIITZone™ with indoor turf, hot yoga, cycling, personal training and Crunch’s Relax & Recover® suite, including HydroMassage, an infrared sauna and a CryoLounge.
Leading up to the official open, the club hosted a “Sip-Sip Hooray” sneak peek on April 21, with a ribbon-cutting by Mayor Jason Roberson. A community-facing Grand Opening Party follows on April 25.
“Launching Crunch Forney is an important chapter in our Texas growth story.”
Crunch 3.0 is intended as a more premium, entertainment-led version of the traditional Crunch club, still priced at the approachable tiers the brand is known for — memberships start at $9.99 per month, with prospective members able to join for $1 and the first month free. For franchisees, the format is designed to deliver higher revenue per member without sacrificing Crunch’s mass-market positioning.
CR Fitness serves more than one million members and is backed by North Castle Partners and Sixth Street. The group is on track to operate 110 clubs nationwide this year, positioning it among the most sophisticated franchisee platforms in the U.S. fitness market. The Forney opening also brings roughly 70 local jobs across personal training, group fitness, sales and operations.
Crunch Fitness moved up to #2 in the fitness category and #20 overall on Entrepreneur’s annual Franchise 500, up from #32 last year, and has again been recognised on Inc.’s list of America’s fastest-growing companies. The system now serves 3.5 million members across more than 550 gyms in 41 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, Australia, Canada, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico and India.
For franchise investors tracking large-format gym concepts for Asia and MENA master franchise opportunities, the Crunch 3.0 rollout is worth watching. It shows that a value-led, entertainment-forward gym model can continue to command $10 million-plus unit investments, remain a ranking-climber in major franchise indices, and still be deployable at scale through well-capitalized area developer platforms. Regions where boutique fitness has captured premium members but mid-market, full-service club formats are still underbuilt — including the GCC, Southeast Asia and parts of South Asia — are natural candidates for the same 3.0 playbook.
