Duck Donuts enters Thailand for the first time.

The Great Restaurant Group Co. LTD has inked an area development agreement with the doughnut brand.

Duck Donuts has announced the signing of a franchise agreement with The Great Restaurant Group Co. LTD in Thailand. This agreement grants the franchisee the ability to expand the brand across Thailand. Duck Donuts anticipates that the contract will bring at least ten shops back to the country over the following five years, with the first opening in late 2022 in Bangkok.

“With the rise of the country’s social and economic development, this gives a fantastic potential for new businesses such as Duck Donuts to be successful in the Thai market,” said Betsy Hamm, Duck Donuts’ CEO.

“We are excited to collaborate with The Great Restaurant Group and leverage their experience of the Thai industry as we launch Duck Donuts across the country.”

Joseph Kim, the CEO of The Great Restaurant Group Co. LTD., has extensive expertise in hospitality management. In 2020, he opened K-stEAT, a Korean food hall in Thailand with 11 Korean companies and about 10,000 square feet of shop space.

“Thais love their sweets, and Bangkok, Thailand’s most populated city, has a passion for food, a distinct cosmopolitan ambiance, multiculturalism, and a thriving culinary scene,” Kim added.

“With its fresh donuts and made-to-order alternatives, Duck Donuts delivers a well-known delicacy in a distinctive way, a concept that will be a terrific addition to the dynamic Bangkok community,”
