Franchise business Banksia eyes Greater Bay Area expansion

Macau franchise business Banksia is set to expand into Mainland China.

The news was announced by Banksia co-founder Takeshi Lam to reporters on the sidelines of the Macao Franchise Expo 2018. Banksia The Brunch and Life is already operating out of Zhongshan.

Lam said the operational processes and quality control processes are currently being standardised, after which the brand will more formally join the market. He also noted that the majority of businesses in the Greater Bay Area tend to be from the mainland, given Macau’s limited market size and HR pool.

With sufficient set-up capital, a franchise should be able to develop further with local talent who have their own expertise in the market, he said.
