H&M expanding to Indonesia

Swedish fashion retailer H&M has partnered with PT Hindo to enter Indonesia.
“We are excited to finally have H&M stores in Indonesia, and to be expanding within the Southeast Asian market,” said PT Hindo country manager Sanveer Gill.
H&M will open its first Indonesia store at Gandaria City Shopping Mall in the third quarter, to be followed with a second store at Pondok Indah Mall shortly after.
According to H&M Indonesia spokesperson, Karina Soegarda, the Gandaria City Shopping Mall store will span 2400 sqm, the Pondok Indah Mall store 1700 sqm.
A third H&M store, the largest, will open in March 2014 at Grand Indonesia Shopping Mall, says Soegarda. The 4000 sqm store will carry the brand’s complete collection.
Being the world’s fourth most populous nation and with a middle class that continuously growing, Indonesia offers huge potential for H&M, the company says.
H&M operates in other Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.
