Kentucky Operator Signs 29-Store Agreement with Slim Chickens

There will be another 29 Slim Chickens locations opening throughout Kentucky and Tennessee courtesy of a newly signed development agreement. Harold Wallace is spearheading this expansion alongside Houchens Food Group. The operator already has five stores in Kentucky and Tennessee and is set to open four more next year.

Houchens Food Group operates more than 300 retail grocery, convenience, and neighborhood market stores in 14 states as well as multiple locations of Schlotzsky’s, Carvel, Cinnabon, Sonic, Subway, Which Wich, and Ace Hardware.

“After knowing Slims’ COO Sam Rothschild for many years and working with him at Tony Roma’s, I knew I wanted to invest in the brand that he was so passionate about. Joining the Slims franchise system has to be one of the best choices I’ve made,” said Wallace. “The restaurant openings that I have experienced so far have been remarkable. The store performance we are seeing on a weekly basis continues to amaze me – we are experiencing an average unit volume of $80,000 per week.”

Wallace signed a multi-unit development deal with Slim Chickens in 2017. He joined forces with Houchens Food Group to build a Slim Chickens presence across the states of Kentucky and Tennessee.
