McDonald's China launches ice cream sundae with chili oil

The chain continues its unorthodox menu launches in the country.
McDonald’s China announced the launch of a limited edition ice cream sundae topped with spicy chili oil.
The new menu item was announced on its official Weibo page. Located on its members-only “creative” menu, McDonald’s China members can redeem for free with a coupon on 25 January only.
It is unavailable in some regions, including Beijing, as well as Hebei and Liaoning provinces.
The sweet and spicy dessert is the latest unorthodox item launch from the fast food giant, which featured an Oreo and spam burger with a mysterious white sauce in December 2020.
