Papa Johns pizza set to open 60 units in Kenya and Uganda

The recently redesigned pizza brand will launch in Kenya and Uganda in 2022

Papa Johns has today announced the signing of a master franchise deal with its new franchise partner in sub-Saharan Africa, Kitchen Express LTD, a subsidiary of AAH Limited, the majority shareholder of Hess Petroleum Group.

The master franchisee, Kitchen Express LTD, plans to open 60 restaurants in Kenya and Uganda, with four planned for 2022, starting in Nairobi. This new partnership will enable Hess Petroleum to utilize its retail footprint and introduce the Papa Johns brand to Kenyans and Ugandans.

In addition to consistent domestic growth in the U.S., the brand has also expanded internationally to 13 new countries in recent years, including Spain, Portugal, Germany, Cambodia, Pakistan, France, Tunisia, Iraq, Morocco, Kazakhstan and Poland.
