Pure Barre, an Xponential Fitness brand and the largest barre studio brand in the world, is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a one-time global event on June 23, 2026 — a livestreamed class set to become the largest simultaneous barre class in history. The milestone caps a remarkable run from a single Michigan studio to more than 620 locations across the globe.
For the celebration, Pure Barre will livestream an exclusively curated class taught 72 stories above New York City at SUMMIT One Vanderbilt. More than 600 Pure Barre studios worldwide plan to join the broadcast simultaneously, with the workout also open to the public — a powerful demonstration of the brand’s community-driven model.
“Pure Barre has pioneered the barre fitness space since its founding in 2001.”
Founded in 2001 by dancer and choreographer Carrie Dorr, Pure Barre grew through bootstrapping and licensing before being acquired by Xponential Fitness in 2018. Under Xponential, the brand has expanded to more than 620 studios, including locations in Mexico and Japan, and has ranked on Entrepreneur’s Franchise 500 for 11 consecutive years.
The New York event will feature national media, influencers, exclusive anniversary merchandise and brand-partner pop-ups, anchored by an all-star instructor leading the global livestream.
Pure Barre’s 25-year arc — and its footprint in Japan — underscores how boutique fitness concepts travel when they are built around community and recurring memberships. For investors across Asia and the Middle East, low-impact, female-focused formats like barre and reformer Pilates are among the fastest-growing wellness categories, with strong unit economics and loyal clienteles. The momentum mirrors deals we have tracked from Club Pilates’ record Southeast Asia agreement to Crunch’s reformer Pilates push and World Gym’s HYROX rollout in Taiwan and Thailand.
