Californian specialty coffee brand, Reborn Coffee, has expanded its reach into Malaysia with the inauguration of a flagship store at the Exchange TRX mall in Kuala Lumpur. This strategic move serves as a “launchpad” for further expansion not only in Malaysia but also into neighboring countries such as Singapore and Indonesia, according to Barrie Nasim, director of the newly established Reborn Coffee Malaysia.
Jay Kim, CEO of Reborn Coffee, expressed enthusiasm about the global expansion initiatives, stating that the move into the Southeast Asian market aligns with the brand’s ethos and is expected to significantly boost revenue streams. He highlighted the brand’s broader expansion plans, including new locations in California, entry into South Korea and the UAE, and a partnership with Hour Loop on Amazon.
The coffee chain, listed on Nasdaq, currently operates 14 locations in California and has plans to add four new stores in California, Texas, and Missouri. Additionally, the company anticipates opening over 10 locations outside the United States.
For the nine months ending on September 30, the Nasdaq-listed company reported revenues of US$4.2 million, reflecting a noteworthy year-on-year increase of 75 per cent.
