Vietnamese cuisine chain Wrap & Roll plans to open eight restaurants in Shanghai during the next two years.
Wrap & Roll’s parent company Chao Do has partnered with commercial operator Citic Square Shanghai in the expansion.
The first restaurant opened in June, the second one, which will be 200sqm, will open this September near a subway station, and the third will be inside a shopping mall. The exact locations have not been revealed.
Bringing the same concept of “affordable casual dining”, the chain targets office staff, middle-class customers and family groups.
Nguyen Thi Kim Oanh, chairman of Chao Do, said she has high expectations for the Chinese market and believes Shanghai offers huge growth potential for Wrap & Roll.
Chao Do was founded in 2006 and currently has 15 Wrap & Roll restaurants and one Cuon Viet restaurant in Vietnam and four franchised Wrap & Roll restaurants in Singapore.
