Crunch Fitness is doubling down on Texas. The brand has announced the upcoming opening of Crunch Saginaw, a $12 million, 36,000-square-foot Crunch 3.0 gym in Fort Worth, Texas, operated by franchisee Southwest Fitness Holdings LLC, a subsidiary of CR Fitness Holdings. The new club at 1653 Creststone Trail is scheduled to open by the end of 2026 and is positioned to become the franchisee's 13th gym in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.

Key facts: Crunch operates more than 550 gyms worldwide across 41 U.S. states plus Australia, Canada, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico and India, and serves 3.5 million members. CR Fitness Holdings, backed by North Castle Partners and Sixth Street, is on track to operate 110 locations nationwide this year.

What Does the Crunch Saginaw Opening Mean for Fort Worth?

Crunch Saginaw will add another high-value, low-price (HVLP) gym to one of the fastest-growing fitness markets in the U.S. Memberships start at $9.99 per month with $0 enrollment fees, and the club will offer Olympic lifting platforms, hot studio classes, HIITZone turf, HydroMassage beds, infrared sauna and CryoLounge recovery amenities.

Southwest Fitness Holdings currently operates 12 Crunch gyms in the DFW area and is targeting 18 total locations by the end of 2026 — one of the deepest single-market builds in the Crunch system.

Why Is CR Fitness Holdings Pushing So Hard in Texas?

CR Fitness Holdings is the largest Crunch franchisee in the United States, currently serving over one million members. The group's expansion thesis is anchored in three structural drivers: population inflow to Texas, sustained demand for affordable wellness amenities, and franchise unit economics that have improved as the Crunch 3.0 prototype standardizes design and equipment specifications.

“We are thrilled to open Crunch Saginaw in Fort Worth and offer a premium fitness experience.” — Tony Scrimale, CEO, CR Fitness Holdings

Crunch 3.0 Design Highlights at Saginaw

  • Expanded strength and functional training zones
  • Power half-hour circuit training
  • HIITZone with indoor turf and advanced HIIT classes
  • Relax & Recover suite: HydroMassage, infrared sauna, Human Touch massage chairs, CryoLounge
  • Full-service locker rooms with dry sauna

How Does This Fit Crunch's Wider Expansion Map?

The Saginaw club is the latest in a string of Crunch 3.0 announcements this spring. Earlier this year the brand confirmed new gyms in Idaho, the Greater Atlanta area, Forney, Garland, and several other Texas markets, with the system targeting 1,000 gyms globally under Leonard Green & Partners ownership. Investors tracking the build-out can read more on Crunch's 1,000-gym roadmap, the recently confirmed $12M Forney debut, and the wider context of faster fitness franchise build-outs in 2026.

What This Means for International Investors

Crunch's HVLP model continues to demonstrate disciplined unit economics at the franchisee level, with CR Fitness Holdings' multi-state footprint serving as a benchmark for how a master operator can scale a fitness brand. For international investors evaluating gym franchise opportunities, the Texas-led build-out underscores two persistent themes: the durability of affordable membership models, and the capital efficiency of standardized prototypes that compress build-out cycles.
