Pure Barre, the largest barre brand in the world by number of studios, is bringing back one of its most requested workouts. The Xponential Fitness-owned franchise has announced the national reintroduction of Pure Barre Reform, a premium class format that blends Pilates-inspired movement with the brand’s signature low-impact technique. The format is available now at participating studios, with a nationwide launch event set for July 18.
Pure Barre Reform is a 50-minute, full-body workout built around resistance, control and coordination. It is the latest move by a boutique operator to capture surging demand for Pilates-style training without the capital and floor space of a dedicated reformer studio.
Pure Barre Reform is a resistance-based class that fuses Pure Barre’s established barre technique with Pilates movement patterns. Using sliders and the brand’s resistance tube system, the class builds continuous tension from head to toe, helping clients develop muscular endurance, body awareness and a stronger mind-body connection. Larger ranges of motion under tension let clients challenge balance and stability, using their own body as the machine.
“Consumers are looking for workouts that do more than build strength,” said Katelyn DiGiorgio, President of Pure Barre.
It becomes part of a deliberately broad menu. Pure Barre already runs five signature class formats spanning introductory sessions, classic barre, interval training, weight training and restorative stretching, with choreography refreshed quarterly. Reform widens that range further, giving studios a resistance-led option that tracks the shift toward holistic, recovery-minded fitness.
Reform was designed for clients of all ages and abilities. Each class offers modifications and progressions so resistance, intensity and range of motion can be dialed up or down, and every session is led by a trained Pure Barre instructor. That accessibility is central to the boutique model, where retention depends on keeping both newcomers and longtime members challenged.
The timing follows the broader Pilates boom. As reformer studios multiply, established operators are racing to offer Pilates-style benefits inside their existing formats. By reviving a fan-favorite class rather than building a new studio concept, Pure Barre can meet that demand across its existing franchise footprint quickly and at low incremental cost. To anchor the relaunch, participating studios nationwide will host National Reform Day on Saturday, July 18, with classes and in-studio activations aimed at current members and prospective clients.
Pure Barre’s move is a low-risk, high-relevance play, and that combination is what makes it instructive. Rather than chase the reformer-Pilates trend with a costly new concept, the brand is extending an asset it already owns: trained instructors, a studio network and a recognized technique. For franchise investors, that is a reminder that a brand’s class library is itself an expansion lever, one that can refresh member interest without new real estate.
The signal carries weight in Asia and the MENA region, where boutique fitness is still early in its growth curve and reformer Pilates is one of the hottest imported concepts. A format like Reform lets a barre operator join the Pilates wave while keeping a single, capital-efficient studio model, an approach that sits alongside the way sister brands such as YogaSix and the wider Xponential Fitness portfolio are scaling internationally. Compared with standalone reformer studios, which carry higher equipment and build-out costs, a class-led approach lowers the barrier for operators testing premium fitness demand in newer markets.
