Philippines' top chains adopt contactless payment solutions

Going cashless is emerging as a preferred mode of payment.

The Philippines’ top chains have tapped payment solutions provider PayMaya to utilise contactless payments and safer transactions amidst ongoing physical distancing restrictions in the country due to COVID-19.

In a statement, the company said Jollibee Foods Corporation, McDonald’s, and KFC have adopted its end-to-end digital payments solutions for in-store, drive-thru and delivery portal.

“Cashless is now emerging as the preferred mode of payment for consumers as Filipinos embrace health and safety protocols under the new normal,” PayMaya president Shailesh Baidwan said. “With quick-service restaurants adopting PayMaya’s end-to-end digital payments solutions, customers and frontliners alike are experiencing a better way to pay that’s also safer, more convenient, and rewarding.”

PayMaya said the companies have deployed one of the former’s point of sale (POS) device in their respective branches to enable customers to scan-to-pay via PayMaya QR, or tap, dip, or swipe using their Visa, Mastercard, and JCB credit, debit, and prepaid cards.

Its digital invoice solution has also been implemented in their ordering system, geared to ease the process of ordering through the chains’ delivery websites or respective hotlines.
