Nuance in India first

Bottles Of Assorted Alcoholic BeveragesFor the first time in India, international travellers can shop duty-free from their home or office before collecting their goods when they transit the airport.
International duty free retailer Nuance has launched duty-free shopping online in a new service so far restricted to Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru (Bangalore).
All products available at the duty-free stores will be represented at bengalurudutyfree.in, across categories including spirits and wines, accessories and chocolates.
Once Nuance tests the concept it is expected to be rolled out at other airports.
The pre-ordering service through the online shopping portal has been introduced to allow passengers to choose from a wide selection of duty-free goods at their leisure. All applicable discounts and promotions will also be available upon purchase online.
Nuance India says it has introduced the service to cater to “busy, tech-savvy passengers, who constitute the majority of international passengers” at the hub.
The shopping portal can be accessed by passengers over the age of 18 and has been designed in a manner that is easy to navigate and select the products of choice. The website is also compatible with laptops, desktops, smartphones and tablets. It gives travellers the opportunity to plan purchases prior to their journey, order products through the website and collect them at the airport upon showing their passport.
“This service ensures that even those passengers who don’t have the time to browse through the vast selection at the duty-free outlet have the opportunity to take home products and gifts for themselves and their loved ones,” said Anirban Dutta Chowdhury, country head with Nuance India.
“In today’s life and times, technology is at everyone’s fingertips and we, at Nuance recognise this. This new initiative will not only save time for the travellers, but also brings exciting offers, discounts and the widest range of liquor, perfumes and cosmetics, confectionery and electronics all online at our website.”
GV Sanjay Reddy, MD of Bangalore International Airport said the web had opened up new ways for engaging with passengers.
“Our success is dependent on the efforts of our partners and I must commend Nuance India for this initiative which creates new opportunities to delight passengers. Bangalore is known for its technology prowess and it is fitting that this service is launched here for the first time in India.”
