Little Caesars Pizza’s Portugal Debut Marks New Era of Global Growth

Leading American Pizza Chain takes a giant leap forward with launch of first stores in Lisbon, Portugal, boosting global expansion efforts.

Little Caesars Pizza, ranked as the third largest pizza chain in the world*, is making progress in its international expansion by launching its presence in Portugal. With current operations in 27 countries and territories, the global brand will be opening its first restaurant in Barreiro on February 6, followed by two more in central Lisbon in the near future.

“We are eager to introduce Little Caesars Pizza and its well-known value, quality, and convenience to Portugal,” stated Paula Vissing, the COO of Little Caesars Pizza. “Portugal is a crucial market for us as we continue to grow in Europe, with already established locations in Spain and more recently, our first restaurant in the UK. Our goal is to open several new stores in Portugal in the coming years and we’re delighted to start with such a strong franchisee.”

Little Caesars Pizza is a family business with over 60 years of experience and a steadfast focus on innovation. Approximately 20 years ago, the brand transformed the global pizza industry with its innovative HOT-N-READY® concept, offering customers the ease of simply walking in and grabbing a hot, large pizza and side items without waiting or having to call ahead. The products are made using fresh, natural ingredients and are available at a great value every day, making them a fantastic meal option for families and individuals alike. The concept was quickly embraced in the United States and has since spread to many other Little Caesars Pizza markets worldwide.

“Little Caesars has created a straightforward yet effective business model that provides customers with what they desire,” added Vissing. “It’s the perfect balance of quality, convenience, and affordability. The HOT-N-READY option offers premium American-style pizzas at a lower cost compared to the competition, which is especially attractive in today’s economy.”

The menu will include several HOT-N-READY® large pizzas, such as Pepperoni and Margherita, starting at just €5.50. Other options include 4 Cheese Deluxe, Pepperoni Special (pepperoni and mushroom), Tuna Delight, and more. The menu also features Pepperoni Crazy Puffs and Little Caesars’ signature Crazy Bread®. All pizzas on the menu are large, at 30.5 cm.

Little Caesars Pizza has increased its global reach in recent years, particularly in Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Canada. The brand just announced its launch into the U.K. market in Europe. Additionally, this year saw the opening of three restaurants in Spain, including a flagship establishment in the middle of Madrid, bringing the country’s overall total of outlets to nine. Little Caesars Pizza is currently looking for franchisees interested in joining the well-known brand. Going forward, Little Caesars Pizza has big aspirations to further its growth across Europe, with a particular emphasis on the United Kingdom, southern Spain, Germany, and France.

“The European pizza industry is valued at over $53 billion and is projected to continue growing year-over-year,” shared Jeremy Vitaro, chief development officer for Little Caesars Pizza. “Now is the time to capitalize on that growth momentum. We are seeking additional franchisees who are interested in entering into area developer agreements in the U.K, as well as Spain, Germany and France.”
