Watsons aims to establish a 100-store network in the Middle East

Watsons, a beauty retailer from Hong Kong, aims to expand its presence in the Middle East by opening more stores in the area. In 2020, Watsons made its debut in the region through an exclusive franchise agreement with AI-Futtaim, opening its first store in Dubai Mall in the United Arab Emirates.

In 2021, the brand expanded further by entering the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Watsons has expanded its presence in a franchise agreement in the Gulf Cooperation Council by opening four new stores in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, bringing the total number of locations in the region to 17. At present, the brand operates five stores in KSA, ten in the United Arab Emirates, and two in Qatar.

Watsons is looking to expand its presence with plans to open 10 new stores in the Gulf Cooperation Council region, and the goal of reaching a network of 100 stores in the near future.

“Bringing the Watsons brand to the GCC region has been a goal of ours, and we were able to launch our first store in Dubai (UAE) in 2020 despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic. We then entered the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2021. Our customers in the Middle East value our expertise in beauty and personal care products, particularly skincare.”

Earlier this month, Watsons opened its 1000th store in the Philippines – which is also its largest yet in the country.
